A Podiatrists primary aim is to improve the mobility, independence and quality of life for their patients. Podiatrists have been trained to diagnose and treat abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs.

Your feet are an incredibly important part of your body, baring your weight all day long, carrying you through work, your day to day activities and exercise. Keeping them healthy is key to remaining active for as long as possible.

Good foot care is important no matter what age you are, well cared for feet can improve comfort, mobility, confidence, independence and have an impact on a person’s overall quality of life.

NHS Podiatry services offer specialised treatments in high risk wound care, Minor Surgery, Musculoskeletal (MSK) and general Podiatry. NHS Podiatrists do not provide basic foot care, however the Scottish government have issued guidance around personal foot care, please visit: www.lookafteryourfeet.info

This website also contains some great information on our NHS Podiatry services, useful links to other websites containing Podiatry advice, and videos/leaflets on how you or your carer can look after your feet.
